Wrexham Council confirmed this morning that the proposed funding cuts to Kerbcraft are cancelled and full service will continue. We have secured the safety training for all twelve hundred children as originally intended. I am now waiting for a written confirmation of the budget allocation to ensure this remains protected …
Wrexham County Borough Council want to cut the amount of funding Kerbcraft receives. 1,200 5 - 6 year olds in Wrexham currently receive Kerbcraft training. Wrexham Council want to reduce this to 300 from April 2013. We simply cannot let this happen. In the 11 years the Kerbcraft scheme has been running in Wrexham, statistics show a dramatic decrease in the number of serious injuries to children. All children deserve to receive this training, please help us to make Wrexham County Council see sense.
The momentum behind this petition has reached a level that the council can no longer ignore. I have now requested a formal meeting with the transport committee to present our case for maintaining current funding levels.

How can they even consider this? 1200 down to 300 is a joke.

These cuts are going to cost more in the long run when a child gets hurt. Think about the kids for once.

Are they crazy?? Roads are getting busier every year and now they want to stop teaching kids how to cross them safely. Absolute madness.
