The death penalty is so gravely weighted toward the state's murdering only poorer citizens and usually only those who have been involved with a case where a white person died. This is a horrid, horrid history for our country and one which should make EVERYONE leary of ever using the death penalty. In addition, we have now had so VERY MANY people found innocent of the crimes some jury found them guilty of, usually with DNA, showing that juries can be led by attornies--or by their own hatreds or stereotypes, that we just KNOW that no verdict is absolute, but death from the death penalty is. How can you possibly murder someone via execution knowing absolutely that there is NO WAY TO BE SURE THIS PERSON IS ACTUALLY GUILTY?? THIS MAKES YOU A MURDERER, MR. SCOTT, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE LAW MIGHT SAY, THE REALITY IS THAT YOU BECOME A MURDERER, AND SO DO THOSE WHOSE JOB IT IS TO PULL THE LEVER OR INJECT THE LETHAL DOSAGES. You are all murderers. And this man you intend to murder is very likely innocent. You MUST cancel his execution and commute his sentence to Life. Period.

thanks Gov. Scott for standing up for the rights of the unborn. Please show your concern for the dignity of ALL life. This state killing would not bring back the victim but would only continue the cycle of violence and the culture of death.

Over and above the dubious circumstances of this person's guilt of the actual murder, capital punishment is a symptom of a fallacious, primitive and brutal form of thinking. The death penalty must be abolished if we make any claim to being a civilized society.
