We all have a responsibility to protect urban forest, for its intrinsic value.

Please please save our trees from the greedy developers and complexes springing up everywhere! I am so proud of our Urban Forest and nearly die with every tree I see being removed...

Rivonia is a good example of how a beautiful wooded suburb has been allowed to be overrun by developments, for which the infrastructure is totally inadequate, and one after the other, the great, old trees are being felled. It is a disgrace and a tragedy, those trees have stood for generations.

Trees are a vital part of ecology, cleaning our air, providing shade, support the wildlife and most importantly supporting rainfall. We cannot destroy them.

They have done this all down Grosvenor Road in Bryanston. Do not want to sell my house because we cannot protect our trees.

I think No 6 is particularly important. The escalation of populace in the last 20 years in areas like Fourways with the rapid building of townhouse complexes the trees have disappeared leaving a concrete jungle. Unacceptable!!

I strongly oppose the cutting down of trees. It is TOTALLY unnecessary.....

This has bothered me for years as i watch parcels of land becoming tree less and expanding in size as complexes become the new life style. Developers just mow down indescriminately.

The trees are what make Johannesburg special and unique in our crazy money grabbing world today.

It’s heart-breaking to see the mature (sometimes century-old) trees simply bulldozed out of the way each time a stand is cleared for higher-density housing or offices. We are well on the way to losing our “largest man-made urban forest” status.
