My family and I have planted over 50 trees in Parkhurst in the last 40 years. We see them being burnt by the homeless and cut down by neighbours who renovate. Some are 30m high and over 30 years old. They give pedestrians shade and homes for our diverse birdlife and insects.

This is REAL ..... I see the effect daily as people destroy year-old trees on properties they hve recently bought. "They changed paradise to build a parking lot" or words to that effect from that song of years ago.

Trees are life. They clean our air, they give us oxygen and water vapour, and they keep the sun away from us. Please, let us protect these gentle giant citizens.

The amount of tree felking on Jhb and Sandton is appalling and all done by selfcentered, money grabbing, unthinking, useless, ignorant idiots who are only interested in lining yhere own pockets with absolutely no regard fot bird, animal, insect life, let alone air purity and tree life. All developers should be compelled to attend discussions on the importance of tree life and their value to the air, ground and surroundings

Trees are life. We can't survive in the city without them. Currently they are being destroyed thoughtlessly and crudely by the modern day version of the invasion of the barbarians, ie developers. We need legislation with teeth.

Fully agree well done. Too much development at the expense of trees. Developers should be compelled to ensure a certain minimum percentage of land be dedicated to trees

I think the cutting down of decades old trees in suburbs like Waverley and Houghton to make way for cluster developments is absolutely disgraceful

Particular focus Should be on getting rid of “mid-density” developments, eg townhouses... don’t get benefits of densification, but all the downside.
