Joan has helped me in countless ways. She deserves to be here more than anyone else. Sne has helped everyone in the school in one way or another, even if they don't know it. She needs to stay at UHHS we need her!

Joan was the first person in the school who taught me how to make a proper phone call, and the importance of leaving a voicemail. Today she continues to guide me in becoming a better person by giving me the chance to present at youth summits and workshops through her Gay Straight Alliance during the school year. I have learned job skills, but more importantly, empathy, from working with her, and I am just one of the many who have had the privilege.

Joan has supported so much people and helped a lot by making a difference. She showed students to never give up and even had them push forward for what they believed in. There was not much people who cared as much as she did.

Joan is one of the most kind hearted people I know at UHHS. She is the epitome of what it is to be a great educator and mentor. Good Shepherd would not only miss out on Joan's contribution to their program, but also take away a member of our tight knit community at our school.

Joan is a great person and obviously if she was no longer a staff member of the school and the school looses their connections with Good Shephard, there will be a major loss for many students including myself. If they fire her it's their loss and they'll be facing a lot of upset students.

She influenced a lot of students and it would be a great benefit to keep her at University Heights HS

Joan has contributed so much in this school. She is always doing her best to help the students. There are over 20 programs ran by Joan, and she one of the vital connection from GSS to us. We have an unbreakable bond, and it shouldn’t be broken at any cause, because losing her would mean, losing a big piece of this school and ourselves. We need her.

Joan is such a sweetheart, if it wasn't for her I don't know how I would have survived high school.

Joan is the most selfless, caring individual. She has helped so many students at UHHS, including me. She helped motivate so many of us! Lastly, she kept us rooted with her kindness and acceptance.

Joan encourages students living in the city that we can be active in the community. Whether it is by growing plants at the garden near the red trailers or reading to elementary school students. Joan has been very active in our school and her absence will be very unfortunate to our school and community.

Joan's services, assistance and even presence alone is a major contribution to the school and for students like us that have succeeded further in our lives. The guidance she willfully gives and the programs that she has managed helped me personally to become both a better person, and to continue onward to a better future. Her advice and amazing personality will always be an inspiration to me. Good Shepherd should stay to continue and assist, it can be rough and their services definitely help to prepare for College and allow growth for many individuals.

Joan helped me all through out my time in UHHS she helped get my first job which was read alliance, she helped me get my first internship and for that I'm thankful she opened so many doors for me. Without her UHHS will not be the same. She makes the difference.

Joan was like the schools mother always caring for all of the children and helping with anything she could when a student had an issue. She helped keep me in school and was always there to help me resolve any issue I had in and out of school. She really does make her office space a safe space for anyone who enters.

Joan has brought a lot if awareness and programs to UHHS. A lot of them has provided students who were like myself, a safe space to be who they are. I was a part of GSA(gay-straight alliance) and PowerWriter. Both programs did provide me an awareness of injustices in the world as well as a outlet for someone who struggled to express themselves. PowerWriters was cut, but GSA, as well as others are essential for the students and represent what UHHS was and could still be. When days got rough for me in high school I always looked forward to connected with people through those programs. Future students should have that same experience.
