To be a good vet, it is not about how flash your waiting room is, nor the flash car you drive or the fancy logo you use. It's about the care of animals. Your willingness to do more then writing a script, more then making money for your next overseas holiday. It is knowing what is best for the animal, be it someone pet, companion, a native animal that has had an incident with a car or some persons only friend. Jan is a good vet, we only hope we had more people who had become a vet for the right reasons - and care of animals.

People like her don't come along to often. Have used her services for number of years till we moved to south coast. Would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone

I've only recently used Jan and she is fantastic. I got a mole cut off my dogs neck for $30. Another vet quoted $700. Keep her open!!

Jan is an amazing lady and fantastic vet who has treated our animals large and small for many years. She goes out of her way and way beyond what other practicing vets will do and we dont want to loose her. I hope she will be allowed to continue to treat more animals for many years to come. She has helped so many people why would this community want to loose such an amazing and knowledgeable carer :)

Jan is the best vet I have ever had to use. My dog was hit by a car, a vet at Belconnen wanted to charge in excess of $800 to fix his broken leg. Jan correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed his leg for $50. He had a perfect recovery. I totally recommend Jan. As stated by many others Jan puts the animal first. Please let her keep practicing.

to not renew Jan's license would show the height of ignorance of those involved and be a total injustice bordering on the criminal

Jan Spate is, in my families opinion, irreplaceable. She is a true bush vet who will attend animals in need at all hours in all weather ( not so, other vets in this community) Jan has been a true friend to us and vet to my horses and our dogs for over 30 yrs. Jan saved our little Whippet from certain death with her simple no nonsense methods where others were unable to diagnose her plight. I cannot thank Jan enough and it is incomprehensible to imagine why certain elements of this community continue to hound Jan with the intention of having her licence revoked. (Leave her alone to do what she does better than anyone else).
