I took on a cat 7 years ago that was going to be put down because the owner wanted to travel. I am a pensioner and cannot afford the high costs of these so called caring vets around Canberra. And then I discovered Jan Spate, what a wonderful caring woman. And for this reason my lovely cat can now be vaccinated, clipped, wormed, deflead and whatever else he needs. I stand by you Jan Spate and to hell with bureaucracy once again gone bloody mad.

She puts animal welfare in front of being paid. Shes tough when needed but was also very compassionate when putting down our old mate Rocky with the kids.

Jan has been out get for many years now. She always puts the welfare of our dogs above anything else. When our Goldie was dying of cancer last year, Jan cried with us as Goldie was put to sleep. She then followed up a couple of days later to make sure we were OK. We trust Jan and her practice and we wouldn't know what to do if she wasn't able to continue her service to our community.

Even though I now live on the other side of Australia I still care about Jan and the wonderful service that she must be permitted to continue to give the local community. She is a treasure.

Jan saved my dog by diagnosing a disc problem. Vet in Sydney wanted to do brain surgery and most likely she would need to be put down. 18 months on I have a very healthy dog. She's a terrific vet and I would travel to Canberra to use her rather than go to a Sydney vet.

Jan is a wonderful caring vet that puts helping people and their animals way before herself or even to take time out for her self. Know matter what time you need her she always answers that ringing phone only to say come on over.
