I'm so devastated that this is happening. Jan has been nothing short of amazing to so many animals and their families for so many years. She saved my cat after I purchased a kitten from rspca who was sold to me with cat flu and I nearly lost him. She also saved my 4 day old puppy when it's mum wouldn't toilet the pups and my little girl hadn't passed any poo for 24 hours I was told by a vet at the Canberra vet that 4 day old puppies poo and wee unassisted

Jan is necessary to the people of Canberra that cannot afford the high prices other vets charge , if she closes down there will be no more help for low income people and their animals, also the wildlife that gets regulary taken to Jan , like turtles, birds, kangaroos, etc etc will have to have no help at all . More animals will be dumped as a result of her closing due to the excessive charges of other vets. jan cares more about the animals and not the money which, no other vet does. The vet board seems to have a vendetta against her , and the vets behind the vet board who are pushing for this . Jan has a few complaints , well so do all the other vets , I have had other vets make bad disgnosis to the detriment of the animal but I have never complained, if people don't like the way she does things or that she has not a fancy surgery then they can pay to go elsewhere. This is so wrong and will cause so much pain to people and their pets. Jan could not afford to keep fighting the vet board , but this is so unfair and unjust , they should be ashamed at their behaviour and going after someone like they have is just so wrong.

My local vet wanted to have expensive X-rays and have my little dogs leg amputated. He was born with crooked leg. Jan has treated him for two years and monitors his pain

keep Jan Spates practice alive because she deserves it! we the people, want, love and need her to help all the animals which she always puts 100 and ten percent into it! Rock on Jan Spate!!

I have taken all my fur bbabies to Jan since I was a kid, she is always kind and caring and an awesome get. My pets always leave happy and better off! She has recently been treating my sister's dog for cancer ( which she wouldn't be able to afford without jan!) Jan has been very open and honest through the tough and emotional battle and treated our dog with utmost professionalism! We will be lost without Jan! As will a lot of canbeera/nsw residents if Jan disappears! Not only does she offer healthcare for animalss outside of hours...anytime I just have to cal! She also does this at a fraction of the price of other vets so there will be a lot of neglected animals!

Without Jan Spate there will be a lot of animal's suffer. She always puts the animals first as it should be and will do all that can be done. Even when she knows the only payment she may revive is the knowledge that she has help one more, much loved pet or wildlife.

All the animals I have owned, and all the critters I have looked after for over 17 years, owe their lives to Jan. That's from pet reptiles, birds, dogs and all injured creatures great and small from wildlife to poddy lambs, goats and calves. My life too has changed for the better.

We need to keep Jan! She is the very best. If she goes, I will travel to Yass to see the vet there, I won't use any other vet in Canberra after what they have caused Jan.
