As a local resident I wholeheartedly object to the planning application. These gardens play host to several community events throughout the year and more importantly are pivotal in providing a place for service users to take part in activities to promote mental well being. In addition to this, these gardens have been a rare inner city green space for as long as I have lived here and that is 30+ years. Do not allow this to change just so that developer can throw up some more buildings to line their pockets.

I would urge councillors and officials to reject this application as the detrimental effect on the local community and the volunteers who have invested so much of their time and effort into creating a genuinely therapeutic (and productive) space. I arranged a visit to the gardens a few years ago by Alys Fowler (BBC Gardeners World presenter & author) and I'm sure she would be equally shocked at the prospect of losing such a fantastic resource.

I hope common sense prevails and the green space is saved and that greed doesn't take over. It's a really fabulous , valued community space used creatively for arts and a Green Gym provision which is a massive community asset.

The Inkwell volunteer gardeners have made a wonderful space in this urban jungle. For the last 3 years it has been fantastic for the neighbourhood with the various fetes and fairs held there. The local community will be a poorer place if it is lost. Please don't let this happen!

Inkwell Gardens is an invaluable space for those experiencing mental health issues and activities such as the Green Gym held every Tuesday and Thursday help to improve the wellbeing of mental health sufferers. At a time when society has highlighted the severe shortage of mental health services across the UK, the loss of Inkwell Gardens will only lead to further regression of mental health services and in the long-term will incur costs through for example increased absence from work due to mental health related issues such as stress and depression.

The garden is an invaluable resource for the community and would be irreplaceable. There is no similar piece of land which could be used as an alternative, for the service users or the wildlife. I have lived in Chapel Allerton for 48 years and every tiny piece of available land has already been built on. This doesn't address housing need in the area, it is purely because property developers can get more money for property in Chapel Allerton than in adjacent areas. In addition to the loss of the garden to the service users and the community I would also object strongly as a resident. Flats on the garden would be too close to my house and would block most of the sunligt to my garden, as well as the rear of my house. Planners don't like that kind of stuff so maybe it will help to think about the negative impact of flats on the site as well as the positive impact of inkwell.

I am shocked and saddened by this news. Once again money and its lure for a few rule our lives; and so we lose more valuable ideas such as the necessity of protecting green public spaces and the promotion of good mental and spiritual health, from which we will all benefit. These gardens are a delight to visit and should not be lost.

Hundreds of people use this garden and space for numerous things throughout the year. To take this away will be an absolute rescuery for the local community and beyond. Its very presence touches hundreds of people in so many diverse ways!
