The Inkwell garden is a space benefitting the entire community, including but not limited to providing a safe place for people with experience of mental health problems to step out of isolation and find some greatly needed support in their lives. When NHS services are overstretched as they are at this time, places like Inkwell are the only option that many of us can turn to for hope and support. One in four people will experience a mental health problem, this garden is needed by the people who use it and who will benefit from it in years to come.

An invaluable resource for people suffereing from mental health problems in Leeds. I was always proud of the way mental health issues are promoted in Leeds as a sufferer of severe depression in the past. It would appear that LCC are putting profit over well being with these plans. And using the Shoulder of Mutton pub in the application is the most disingenuous part of this application. This building has been Inkwell for over five years and is an icon because of that.

Given the growing understanding of the importance of green spaces, community projects and social inclusion in the health and wellbeing of a city, giving up such a valuable space would seem to be an illogical and eventually costly decision.
