People fail to realise how vital an open space in an urban area can be. For both physical and mental health, access to outdoor activities is incredibly beneficial and in some cases may even be a life saver.

I live in a different postcode, and work in a different Council area altogether (as a mental health professional). A couple of things strike me:firstly that the removal of the vegetable garden may affect the viability of the centre as a whole;secondly, there should be no permitted development on urban green spaces - it's a direct cause of flash flooding by reducing the ability of the urban ecosystem to absorb and store water (I imagine residents lower down the valley will have something to say?); thirdly:preventive/supportive mental health provision is being decimated, and that is driving the crisis in acute services. In short, it is a one of the reasons why there is a national shortage of mental health beds. Saving the gardens seems small, personal, and local, but - like all these fights - it is of huge significance. You have my support x

I am appalled at the intention to lose inkwell gardens and replace it with a 3 storey block of flats that will destroy the green space, the quiet residential street and the oasis for wild life. In the present climate when mental health services are being slashed it is vital that such places are supported for the benefit of all.

At a time when support services are being cut we should be supporting charities like this who do so much great work to help our local community. Removing the garden and replacing it with flats would remove a facility for the service users and directly impact the fund raising work done by this organisation. I urge the council to recognise the great work that is done by this charity and to take note of the strong community support for them by rejecting the application. People first, no to flats.

it would be awful if inkwell garden was to be built on. I have attended events there from different organisations and I also do art classes at inkwell as part of doing my art I use the garden like most other people to draw paint etc. its such a lovely peaceful environment to be in. to think that flats could be built there in the future is unthinkable to me. also the hard work that has gone into the gardens. please save our garden. a invaluable space for the wider community and leeds as a whole..

There is more than enough housing available in the area already, why take apart something that has taken years of hard work and gives so much to so many people. I fully oppose this proposed development.
