These tennis courts have been open for 35+ years and has been a staple to the Sutton East community. To take away these courts would greatly affect the lifestyle of many people. Many people would be out of work and won't have a place to play the sport they love. Please keep it open

I have lived in this neighborhhod since 1985 and I have played at Sutton East since the 1990's . This facility is unique and I cannot imagine life in the neighborhood without it. There is no alternative use of the space that would contribute as much to the neighborhood and the citizens. Please renew the permit. Thank you

Sutton East Tennis is a facility that serves all of New York and people from all of New York play at Sutton East. It's a rarity to find an indoor tennis facility that opens its doors to the public. People unfamiliar with this neighborhood learn about all it has to offer: public parks, public spaces all for free. Come one, come all and they do!

This mutual-generational and multicultural venue is vital to people from all parts of the city. Active, healthy and happy citizens create a better city. Keeping kids off of their devices is a no brainer, they need to exercise and have face to face connections.

I love playing tennis here. It improves my physical and emotional well-being. A recent NYT article spoke to the power of tennis (social sports in general) relationship with longevity. In a city with few options for playing, this one is important.

This is an invaluable resource for the health and well being of residents from a large area of Manhattan, not just the immediate neighborhood. Not keeping the courts open would be a tragedy.

I don't know where else my son could play tennis, without having to go to Roosevelt Island. He is 13 and has disabilities. He can walk to the court, but I would not feel comfortable having him take the tram by himself. I work, so it would be the end of tennis for him if the courts close.
