there are few available opportunities for tennis in Manhattan and keeping our kids and teens as well as adults active supports healthy lifestyles.

It is important to keep these courts open as a means of recreation for hundreds of New Yorkers and to continue providing employment for the 60+ workers of Sutton East Tennis Club. There are very limited options available to the public to play indoors during the cold weather months and to lose these courts would be a blow to all tennis playing residents of New York.

Retention of indoor tennis facilities is highly important for the Upper East Side given the lack of public tennis facilities on the Upper East. This particular facility provides red clay courts that do not exist in the indoor format anywhere else in Manhattan, public or private.

I love playing tennis at Sutton. My kids play here and it is the best use of this unusual space! The place is always very busy with people exercising by playing tennis.

This is a fabulous and much needed tennis vacillity in midtown. There are so few options for indoor tennis that are affordable in and bring joy to all ages. As well as the 65 employees who will lose there job!
