I honestly had to read the email three times before it finally sunk in that we actually pulled this off and secured the future for our school. It has been such a long and messy road with so many twists but looking at where we are now I just feel …

***Update Summer 2020*** Our mission is to establish an independent Catholic school for young women in the traditions of IND. We are committed to fulfilling our mission without the SSND support which includes seeking a new location outside of 901 Aisquith St.

Calling all friends, family and supporters of our beloved IND, please add your name to support our mission to save the Institute of Notre Dame. Please sign and share with all who support this great cause!!

Adding your name to our petition is symbolic of your support of our efforts to continue the legacy of IND. Should you wish to volunteer or help in any way please visit our website to add your information to our volunteer form.

*If you would like to pledge a donation or volunteer please do so directly on our website https://www.saveindofmd.org/. **Donations made on this page go to support the host Ipetition and NOT Save IND of MD

The 173-year-old Baltimore institution has forged a path for generations of young women, and instilled in them the value of both a strong education and a strong moral compass.

We love IND, and believe that we can secure a sustainable path forward. We believe in the transformative power of education that guided our foundress, Blessed Theresa Gerhardinger, and commit our resources to ensuring that her vision continues. #SavingIND

People keep sending me these beautiful stories about their time at the school and sometimes I have to just stop and cry because the history here is so heavy and alive. We are working behind the scenes on finding a new space that feels just as much like home as our old halls even though the logistics are a total headache right now.

I was looking at the screen and just realized how much this has grown since we first started talking about moving forward without the old support structure. It feels like the legacy is actually going to stay alive and that is honestly just so surreal to think about while I am sitting here drinking my third cup of coffee.

Watching this list grow is honestly so wild because it really shows how many people care about keeping this legacy alive even when things look rocky and uncertain. We are creeping up on that first hundred mark so if you know anyone who hasn't seen this yet maybe send the link over to them because I really want to hit that number before the day is over.

Losing IND would be a tragedy. As the essay put it: it was inclusive before that became a “thing”. It supported women from its beginning. It deserves the support of all those, rich, of modest means, and poor, who believe inclusive support of women matters.

Was part of the 100th graduating class and so hope IND can continue as a place where young women can receive a great education and come into their own regardless of race or background

Administration is correct. It would have been impossible to recruit a viable freshman class for the fall. However, the charism of IND could continue in another model. Very small, nurturing, academic, service based learning for young women. Mission School of sorts?

This school is a landmark. It is a home that builds female pioneers and sends out impactful women to make our world a better place. This institution cannot be shut down. Generations of women will be denied the opportunity to be given all of the love and amazing education that this school provides.

170+years of educating young women. helping the impoverished community that surrounds... IND has been a family. a Catholic presence. It changed with the decades. When I was a temporary teacher there IND offered a cutting edge curriculum.

Best Catholic college prep girls school in Baltimore City. Always had excellent result in terms of college acceptance and MERIT based scholarships. Please save this school! Parents of 2 graduates one a Nurse Practitioner, the other an Attorney. Hail IND!
