A distasteful handling by university faculty and an unfortunate situation that deserves a transparent and fair review. My unwavering support is with the members of these teams and alumni.

The game of lacrosse means so much to the athletes blessed to have played this sport. It has taught us life lessons that no other sport could have.

These men have put in years of hard work to play lacrosse and it would be cruel to destroy their dream. Please reconsider ending the lacrosse program. These student athletes need an organized program to play this sport. E-sports don’t require the schools sponsorship to survive. The e-sport players can just play on their own in their home or dorm.

Keep the program, build an endowment for the other sports without cutting lacrosse. The student-athletes and future student athletes will benefit from the lessons learned from the game and their time playing.

Lacrosse is a sport which demands leadership ability, kinetic acuity, and personal discipline from its participants. The routine of delivering oneself into the controlled chaos of the sport teaches players that they can be confident under pressure, that their decisions impact the welfare of those around them, and that their competitive spirit is the key to overcoming adversity. It is imperative that students may receive an opportunity to develop themselves in such facets as these, which will give them advantages over their peers as they go forward in life. The continuity of the lacrosse program is integral to the success and personal development of the students involved, and the surrounding community in which they are integrated with is made better if they are allowed to continue playing.

Lacrosse is the sport of the future. Replacing it with ESports and Bowling is a backwards, cowardly, and uneducated decision. Preserve the careers and lives of these young men and women who have gained so much from the sport of lacrosse.
Let them play! It’ll pay off in the long run
