We want OOSH to stay in the school with the same providers. They do a wonderful job and we want it to stay at school.

Very sad for the students and families. The families have built a foundation of trust with current provider - the needs of our children and their families have not been considered in this . Shouldn’t the needs of our children be at forefront of every educational decision ?

I truly hope that this doesn’t happen it’s the most fantastic service and I wouldn’t be as happy to use it on a different premises. My kids feel happy and safe at Oosh and being at their school allows this to be the case.

The Catholic Church is a huge non tax paying business. The main business of the Catholic Church is to create more Catholics not to provide a quality education. The diocese skimps in every aspect of education from overcrowded classrooms, to poorly maintained grounds and limited extra curricular activities. The diocese will pay no tax on whatever profit they make from this new endeavour but charge parents more! I am sure the current providers pay tax. Whatever school fees and money is payed to the CSO for the education of individual students does not go to the school or to the education of that student. Take look around any public school and see how much better resourced they are. This is a blatant money grab from a corrupt institution in the name of expanding its business.

My children were so fortunate to have this amazing OOSH. The staff were and still are important positive role models, people they still talk about with love and respect. As a single mother, working full time, Holy Family OOSH kept the part of me that is stressing about what’s happening for my children, completely calm and confident that that was an area I didn’t need to focus on as I tried to wind up my day. These are amazingly competent caring people and the environment is beautiful and safe for our children. Please don’t try to fix something that is not broken

A fantastic service that my son loves. Nothing but wonderful things to say about HF OOSH. They provide such a wonderful service and should not be pushed out due to these new changes.

I am signing this petition because it directly affects my family. We have used this wonderful service every week since it began. The care provided to our children is second to none. We have always felt very blessed and grateful to have our own fabulous OOSH team. I am appalled by the decision taken by Mr Scanlon to unilaterally, and secrteively, remove OOSH service providers from the schools in our diocese. I found out via the Newcastle Morning Herald, and I was completely stunned. Not a single parent had any idea that this was happening. Mr Scanlon has still not bothered to inform the families at Holy Family about his plans for our school. The arrogance and lack of care and respect shown to students, parents and staff by what is supposed to be a Christian organisation, is staggering. Their behaviour has been underhanded and cowardly, denying our right to have input in relation to the care given to our children. Our daughter has been in tears more than once because she has such a wonderful relationship with her OOSH carers and is heartbroken that they are leaving her school. This decision must be reversed.

I have had a child at this school for 7 years. We regularly use OOSH and we have never had any issues and are very happy with this service and its providers. I don’t like how the Diocese has made a decision to replace tried and tested and performing providers with an unknown (to the parents) without consultation. Even councils and governments need to consult on big decisions, why is the Diocese above that?
