I was born in Laverstock in the 1950's, so I know the history of this bridge well. It is a beautiful and historic bridge that needs to be protected for the future.

I’ve seen big HGVs on the bridge. Surely a plate-reading camera can identify HGVs and fine the drivers, as well as publicise the fines to HGV firms?

Time has come to act, huge lorries are spoiling all our country roads, they should be banned from all but major routes. If delivery is necessary then goods should be off-loaded onto smaller vehicles. We have the same problems out in Bishopstone and the Chalke Valley. Lorries using small roads as rat runs. Time it was stopped
