Save Historic Hico

Please do not tear down the historic buildings for a church. There’s plenty of land outside of downtown for a church. A church would not represent highest and best use of the downtown property.

We need to preserve our history. We lose so much when we just make way for new. I hope they can find a nice parcel with room for expansion a bit further out

All for expansion of church, just not at the cost of historic buildings going down and no chance for them to be utilized and refurbished as the other buildings down town.

The business community of Hico has to be considered in any expansion. The city tax base would be greatly impacted. I believe this expansion of the Grace Bible Church should not be approved.

I love the look of the town and the old buildings. We moved here 4 years ago and I really love it here.

Protecting historic buildings in the downtown area makes great economic sense! Think about the long term.

Please save these buildings. I no longer live there but we drive back to see these often then also eat there in town and get gas which brings money to the town. And when the church gets 500 members? Does the town even have that many people in the area?

The historic structures in Hico should be preserved. The history and beauty of these structures is the soul of Hico.

Too many historic small communities have been cast aside to accommodate corporate greed. Sadly, the Grace Fellowship behaves like a corporate entity, behaving in its own interest, rather than for the good of the community and its historic significance. Please refuse their expansion in the interest of preserving an important part of Trxas history. Thank you for your consideration.

The church has done a beautiful job with what they have, but I’d love to see them continue their expansion outside of the historical district. Hico has a rare set of opportunities for a small town in the old buildings and I’d love to see them used for a variety of businesses that will bring more tourists to town.
