This petition is to draw the kind attention of the Government of West Bengal, India, to the recent media reports highlighting the severe shortage of teaching staff at Hindu School, Kolkata—particularly in key departments such as Mathematics, Economics, English, and several other subjects. As one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in India, Hindu School has played a pivotal role in shaping generations of students for over two centuries. Its alumni have gone on to contribute significantly across India and abroad, carrying forward the school’s legacy of excellence.

The current situation, however, paints a distressing picture. The lack of adequate faculty is not only affecting the academic environment but also undermining the institution’s long-standing reputation. Given the school’s historical importance and its contribution to the cultural and intellectual fabric of West Bengal, this decline is deeply concerning.

We, the members of the school's alumni, humbly request you to sign this petition to raise a collective voice to ensure that the vacancies are filled at the earliest and that the school receives the administrative support it urgently needs. Additionally, we appeal to the Government to consider initiating a broader plan for the preservation and enhancement of Hindu School’s heritage—academically, infrastructurally, and culturally—so that it may continue to serve as a beacon of quality education for future generations.
