Ridiculous even considering building up that area with a gas station and stores. A few houses would be one thing but that area is ALREADY too far congested to add retail businesses. The whole point of the new interchange was to alleviate some of the traffic burden, and now they want to add that congestion BACK?! Ridiculously short-sighted at best; greedily seeking new property tax revenue at worst.

Water is life! Keeping it clean is so much less expensive than cleaning it up after the fact. I give you Flint, Michigan as an example... so much pain and suffering to save/make a little money.

I am all for development in High Point, but in the right location. A gas station, with underground tanks in this location, so close to our watershed, is NOT the right place. It is just crazy to risk contaminating our drinking water and then having to clean it up, as opposed to keeping it clean in the first place! Not to mention there are 4 other gas stations, and 2 other carwashes all within 2 miles of this location, none of which sit on our watershed. Protecting our watershed is way more important than a 5th gas station in a 2 mile radius!

The DOT has spent so much money to alleviate the traffic and move it along. This can only cause more congestion. Our water is vital! Please protect our water source.

Our water source is VERY important and vital to everything we do! Once the water source is contaminated the damage is irreversible. Other cities are already dealing with water issues....LET'S BE PROACTIVE AND STOP THIS NOW!
