If this is the town labeled as Historic Hendersonville, why are we getting rid of such an important piece of our town's history?

Seems quite odd that the cost of renovation is cheaper than a whole new school, but yet the commissioners voted for the more expensive option. In the end if this original building is to be for other use, then it will still have to be renovated and upgraded. Since this would be the case there is no logical explanation as to why it cannot still be used for HHS.

Those halls and rooms are more than just a school. They must be preserved so that generations and graduating classes to come can experience the bearcat spirit that lives in that place.

Class 2008- With the building used by the School Board/ or other official use will security become a concern if members of the public cut across the campus? I also did not see a parking lot on option 6 and as every alum know parking has always been an issues. Frankly our teachers deserve a convenient place to park.

Love my school! My family graduated from here, and hope to have more family graduate as well. I love the idea of driving by and showing my family where I went to school and all the memories that took place on campus during school hours. Life was good! :)

While attending HHS for my last two years i met my husband. We were married April of my senior year. That's my part of the history attending this school. My brothers are attending now and will graduate there. Though I didn't attend all four years, i felt the history seeping through the staff, the students, and everywhere in between. I loved that auditorium where so many have thrown caps, turned to say goodbye, and come back to see teachers occasionally; my mural and ceiling tile are still displayed in the art room.

This school means so much to thousands of alumni such as myself. It is ridiculous that spending more money on a new school is even a plan.
