We, the PTA Board of Holiday Hill Elementary, ask our community to join us in our petition to the Duval County School Board to save our beloved school from closure.
The benefit that Holiday Hill Elementary, a Title 1 school, has on our community is incalculable.
It is here, at HHE, that our students have learned to thrive. A place where teachers pour themselves into students, a place where administration and families work together to overcome challenges, and a place where our students feel safe to explore and grow. It is a place where our community flourishes.
We have chosen to live in Duval County and send our children to DCPS schools because of the unique opportunity that our students are provided with at Holiday Hill Elementary.
The potential loss of Holiday Hill Elementary to our community is staggering. We ask that our DCPS School Board explore all other options over closure.

The Duval County School Board is finally starting to feel the heat because of this overwhelming wave of support. They want to shut us down quietly but this momentum proves they cannot silence our community.

This school is an integral part of our community and many of the neighborhood children can walk or ride their bicycles to school. Stripping our neighborhood of this high performing school would be detrimental to the current students and parents and should not be closed.
This neighborhood school serves 3 neighborhoods in mostly walking distance. Why would you close it and have kids be driven or bussed farther away. Not very green. I’m sure there is money to be made by selling that property and building more homes and apartments. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
This school is a must in Holiday Hill/Glynlea/Grove Park. It serves to so many needs of special education in this neighborhood and outside of the neighborhood as well. I cannot imagine this neighborhood without it or why closing the school is even being considered.
I attended Holiday Hill on the first day it opened. My children attended and so did my grandchildren. Do not close this great school for our Glynlea Holiday Hill and Grove Park students. It has the best teachers, administrative staff and students that receive a A+ education.
We live in the neighborhood and our 5 year old starts kindergarten in the fall and was excited for him to go to the school at Holiday Hill We actually turned down a RSCA charter school to go to Holiday Hill Elementary
I just moved to the neighborhood and love the fact that holiday hill is supportive to its neighbors.

We are in our first year at Holiday Hill and love it and would hate to see it close. Class size is very important and if these schools keep merging the number of children in the classes will make it difficult to have a successful learning experience.
