We want to save this amazing piece of art that has brightened the heart of downtown Hendersonville for almost 20 years! The Hands On Children's Museum is planning an expansion and, as per the current plan, the large, colorful mosaic on Main Street will be destroyed. This important art piece was created and gifted to our city by artist, Vasily Polevoy, when he resided here. The beautiful, monumental mosaic is 18 ft. x 18 ft. and is made of Byzantine enamel. It depicts and reflects the natural wonders of our area - our mountains, rivers and lakes, our waterfalls, flora and fauna, and our four glorious seasons.

The Hands On Children's Museum is a community-supported organization and they are seeking feedback from the community on the Museum's new design.

Please sign this petition to let the Hands On Executive Director and Board of Directors know that Hendersonville's citizens value this important piece of art and don't want to see it destroyed!

There must be a way for Hands On to preserve this treasure, and allow it to co-exist with their signage.
