Twenty years ago the same mistake was made by the MHCC. The day UCMC opened it was too small! The cost of expansion is greater than building it the right size.

Please reconsider as this affects real people and families in our community. Harford County deserves access to the health care they need including behavioral health. UM Upper Chesapeake has a vision for our critical immediate needs and our future, please give them your support!

I am not just a team member but the spouse of one who has utilized the mental health care at Havre de Grace. They do an amazing job but more services are needed. Aberdeed is an ideal location to continue serving that community but also allowing for a quick transport if services are needed from elsewhere in the county. Please understand that all of the services are needed and that much thought has been put into locations as well as services at each location while being responsive to the changes in the health care field.

As Harford county and surrounding areas continue to grow, so do the health and mental health complexities. Very proud to be a part of a health organization that recognizes the increased need for behavioral health services. However, to expect that heavy lift to fall solely on the Bel Air campus would have crippling domino-effect consequences. Please help support our community needs by approving the modified applications.

This new freestanding medical facility is crucial for our residents of Harford County to insure they obtain the best health care possible. Behavioral Health is a serious health problem and could occur to anyone of our family members. Our current Behavioral Health Unit is not equipped to handle the influx of patients that constantly occurs within our facility.

We have real needs in our community and UCMC is already crowded. Our patients need a campus in Aberdeen that can address the mental health needs of our rural patients who will not travel to Bel Air. There is not enough transportation for those clients to go to Bel Air. This campus was designed to meet the needs of our patients. Please approve the plans for the Aberdeen campus.

I'm all for the services this new facility can bring to the BH patients in Harford and Cecil county...it's been a long time needed service, yet still providing the ED services HMH provides.

As a pathologist who has practiced in the Baltimore area for over 30 years, and at UM UCH for 10 years, I can attest to the fact that , for its size, this county has an unusually large and growing number of patients with cancer, and many with unusual types of cancer and /or cancers presenting at an advanced stage. These are complex patients that require complex care, and I am very concerned that a "short sighted" expansion of our campus could very negatively impact the care of these patients in our community, now, and especially in the future.
