I am a double above Knee amputee. So confined to a wheel chair. I regularly use the Toilets in Haslemere High Street. There are no other disabled facilities with in the town. This is another example of discrimination against the disabled residence.

It is similar to the parking fiasco with Surrey - we must not let the Council walk rough shod over us.

We live in a village outside Haslemere and are grateful for the lavatories in town. We think they should be upgraded and improved to become an asset to the High street as we shop there and rely on these facilities.

I use these facilities quite regularly before I can get into work ... please keep them open. What are we supposed to do now when caught short ? Go in the road ??

Following the closure of the top of Wey Hill toilets a few years ago, if this closure takes place, Haslemere will become one of the few Market towns in the south of England without a Public toilet. It is vital to note that there is a growing population of young children and over 70's in Haslemere, both of which need an easily accessible toilet. There is not a public toilet in Waitrose supermarket, and the only toilets can be found in pubs and restaurants - although I do not believe that the proprietors of these establishments will be happy with members of the public using their toilets, In my opinion, the disappearance of public toilets in Haslemere would make the town less welcoming and attractive to visitors, and residents alike, and this will negatively impact upon businesses in the town.
Whilst it is true that the provision of off-street parking is inadequate in Haslemere, swapping the Waitrose car park toilets for three extra parking places would, in my opinion, be counter productive for the town. In truth, the town requires a 'Waitrose' car park of approximately twice the capacity of the current car park.
I am therefore strongly opposed to the closure and disappearance of the Waitrose car park public toilets.

These toilets are essential to the area and we shpuld be going further and having them upgraded rather than cloaing them. There is an alternative that can be chosen here and I urge you to consider this.
