Building the two new super schools did not work in my opinion - and perhaps instead of messing around with the Peoples Market and the traders livelihood - maybe Grove Park could live on as the Arts Hub the council wants so desperately

Grove Park girls school must not be demolished. It was the most beautiful school with its Italian marble sweeping staircase, its quads and extensive cellars which must hold articles from our concerts and plays. My eldest sister was one of the first pupils there and remembers it well with fondness. The teaching skills were fantastic and there was an immense sense of pride at having been a pupil there. The whole ambience of the school was wonderful and skills were nurtured.
Wrexham Council must not be allowed to demolish this icon. During the last forty/fifty years they have done untold damage to the town by demolishing most of its history. The Victorian glass roofed market, Stephens Café and so many other notable historical buildings have been smashed to the ground and plastic and glass monstrosities erected in their place. Wrexham now looks like a suburb of Liverpool as it then was forty years ago. Liverpool is now a beautiful city which has been sympathetically restored and is now thriving. Wrexham has regressed so badly that I no longer want to shop there. The place is ugly
and dirty with so many boarded up shops. It was a thriving market town bustling with people with many varied shops and cinemas etc. Please do not let Wrexham Council get their paws on Grove Park Girls grammar school. Could it not be expanded sympathetically, preserving the original school. There must be many talented architects who could do this tastefully, integrating any new building
s in red brick. We must not allow this building to be razed to the ground as have so many other beautiful historical buildings in Wrexham.

Recently moved to Wrexham. Beautiful historic building. Whoever wants to knock this down wants their head testing. Oh sorry, it's all about ££££'s of course. Silly me.

Wrexham borough councils have a disgraceful attitude to historic buildings. It is no surprise that this negativity continues and overrides local opposition. Anyone growing up in the town - as I was - would be aware of past demolition of the old Town Hall, Rose and Crown, Brynyffynnon, the Bridewell, Plas Gwern and Mount House besides the mutilation of Charles Street, Yorke Street, Lampit Street and Chester Street. Add Plas Cadwgan, Brymbo Hall, Gwersyllt Hall, New Hall and Plas Power in the surrounding area and it is difficult to find any local authority in Wales which has colluded in the destruction of its heritage. This includes both Medieval and later buildings.

I was a pupil in the 1960's and have memories of a well maintained building with many beautiful features. It would be such a shame to demolish it as it is a huge part of Wrexham's history.

I was in that school 2004-2005 when ysgol clywedog was being refurbished, beautiful building shame clywedog didn't get permanently moved to there instead of their absolute shed of a building that still crap after £25million

Cast your mind back to when Sidoli's (Steven's Cafe),a beautiful old black and white timbered building was demolished in 1960's/70's..sacrilege..Don't let this happen to Grove Park.
