In addition to the historical and practical importance to CHS athletes, the lower loop also borders a creek. A parking lot will likely lead to additional, harmful runoff from the asphalt area into the watershed.

While I know CHS would greatly benefit from additional parking options for students, the safe grass training options for XC runners are limited. Maybe a parking garage on the south side of the street where they can expand on the current parking lot would be a good alternative.

Please don’t take away the training course for such an important sport. It’s one of the few sports, extra curricular activities (performing arts) that does not “cut” students. It encourages personal best performance.

This is where both the girls and boys cross country teams train!! A lot of our workouts are done there, it can’t just be taken away. There is plenty of parking spa e already. Cross country is a sport too!!!!

This is like trying to build a parking lot on top of the football or soccer field, this is where we train!

This is a beautiful green space on 136th street. We don’t need more pavement.

Build a parking lot on the football field, oh wait. Build a parking garage in the basketball gym, oh wait. Paint parking lines on the tennis courts, oh wait. Fill in the swimming pool with concrete and paint lines on it, oh wait.
Oh wait, CHS actually cares about those other sports; it has never cared about Cross Country so it makes sense they once again want to take away from the CC program and it’s homemade course. Makes me sad as a CHS alum.

I met my wife on the course when we were 15. We got engaged on it 8 years later. Would really like to see it stay as is. It's a very nice wooded area with beautiful trees. In middle school this was my favorite course to race. It was sad when they made the upper loop inaccessible and ruined the course.

I’ve personally ran the trails of greyhound park for workouts and training runs. We runners would hate to see it go! It’s a valuable asset for Carmel XC.
