We , the people of Elgin want Moray Council to save Grant Lodge from further deterioration. We also want the building put back to a useable state , so the community of Elgin and visitors alike can make use of it . Moray Council has reneged on its obligations regarding stewardship of Grant Lodge and if they are unable to fulfil their duty of care , they should allow those who do care and who wish to help , to do so and to seek volunteers from the local community , sponsorship from businesses in the area , set up a charitable status trust to oversee fund raising , and approach the various bodies which have offered financial funding, expertise and advice to take the project forward. Full consultation with the Townspeople should be held to further plan the viable uses for Grant Lodge which they decide.
