Giant Steps School has been a crucial component of my son’s development. There is no place like it, and sadly no replacement for it if it closes.

Hire a consultant to assist the school on how to meet the new guidelines. The children deserve better,

Schools are the foundation of a community. It holds the children and families together. At times like these children need “ their” school to return to so they can see life returning to somewhat normal . I’ve been an educator for 30 years so I know the importance of school in children’s lives. Please this is not the time to close .

As a parent of a Special Needs child and a Special Education teacher we need schools like Giant Steps. It is an amazing program and so needed in this area as there are not any other programs that is better able to meet the needs of these special kids!

Please don't close down Giant Steps. My friend Lindsey's son Miles has thrived there for 6 years, it's like his home away from home and he looks forward to his daily routine. Please reconsider this terrible choice. My friend's child relies on Giant Steps. This would be a huge mistake. Many children's routines would be disrupted. I can't imagine my friend's son having to start school somewhere new as he suffers from Dravet Syndrome. He is happy and comfortable at Giant Steps. Think of the children, please.

Speaking from experience having gone to schools for having a learning disability, children with disabilities and severe learning differences need to be in the right environment to thrive and feel understood and supported because when they leave school they are in a world where very little people on average understand those hardships and are not as patient or empathetic. Keeping schools open such as this one is incredibly important for these children and especially for their parents as it can create a community for other parents who may struggle to fully help their children.

Giant Steps is too precious to close . The kind of education Giant Steps provides for kids with the greatest needs does not exist anywhere else . It would be devastating to the kids and their families. This lifeline cannot go away . Together we can help Giant Steps overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of reopening during Covid. Please let us try .
