Here is my take on the situation:
Friday Feb 13th 2015
Garlands Nightclub Was sensationally raided by up to 140 police officers last night after executing a warrant to search the premises. It is believed an unconfirmed amount of class A substances were found on the premises. Garlands opened in 1993 and soon became the pinnacle of the gay clubbing community. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength even after a massive fire which led the club to seek refuge in the old State nightclub on Dale St. After a total refit the club then went on to become one of the biggest clubs in the city (even though the strict door policy had at least 50% of would be patrons turned away at the door).
For those who are old enough to remember, Mr & Mrs Disco were regulars there in the late 90's and early naughties and were even sent off to Ibiza by the club and featured on a T.V show called cream for Sky 1.
Personally I do hope this isn't the end of an era.

So Garlands Nightclub Liverpool has been shut down by magistrates for 3 months. Garlands can appeal but this will take a week. I am Pro-Garlands and I believe there was a lot of heavy handedness delivered by the "establishment" today. I believe you can go into any club in this country on a busy night and expect to find drugs. Especially if you are accompanied by sniffer dogs and 139 of your colleagues in high visibility vests. Be it a hard house club, a trance club a metal club or even an old man's sports and social club on a Saturday night, the fact of the matter is there will be drugs somewhere.
Plain clothes officers are said to have been offered drugs inside the club?, Yeah right they have gone round every man and woman in there asking. We are not stupid you know. This is exactly what they did in the Lomax, I guarantee it.
So come on lets all show our support for the Liverpool nightlife and get behind Garlands and the Lomax and
