I'm signing because I believe this proposal is counter intuitive. You have recently made many claims that you intend to clean up the Freeman street area and restore it to what it once was. I fail to understand how putting a traveller site in the area will help to achieve this.
You could make far greater use of the land in question. Is it not enough that we already have a homeless shelter in the adjacent street (hope Street) with a second being built on Freeman street.
In an area that already struggles with crime, you intend to invite people who can leave before they can be made accountable. What kind of message does that send to the residents in the area. In what way will this revive the local area.

What is the hidden agenda for Freeman st? Apart from making the central hall a no go area along with the Riby square area being turned into a housing complex for drug and drink users?
For potential investors to see this as their first impression of our town when they cross over the flyover will definateley be their last!

Such great efforts have been made to ensure the future of the Central Hall, a great concert venue for the area and a building which massively enhances this deprived part of town. We shouldn't endanger the future of this important part of local heritage.

This would take away the parking for the Central Hall and the Freemen street market

Using Garibaldi Street car park as a traveller site would kill off the Central Hall as a venue, and would ensure its closure. Why not part of the old Tioxide site?

Pouring funds into the area for so called regeneration will need parking spaces. Settling travellers there isn't really going to help.
