Local parents are campaigning to save the Friendly Gardens Generation Play Club in Lewisham. The Play Club is threatened with closure as a result of cuts by Lewisham Council. In order to prevent closure, we need to demonstrate to the Council that this resource is valued.
The Play Club is vital in that it offers a place for pre-school children to socialise, play and learn. Its closure would mean impoverished provision for hundreds of children in the Lewisham/New Cross/Deptford/Brockley area

The emails from the council remain cold and dismissive despite everything we keep sending them. My patience is worn thin but I am not walking away from this fight for the gardens.

Reaching this point has been an exhausting climb but the momentum is finally shifting in our favor. I am drained by the fight against these cuts yet seeing this level of support keeps me moving forward.

Ridiculous decision. Where are these kids supposed to go now? Play areas are essential for the community. Rethink this immediately.
so sad to hear this. the staff are wonderful and it is a safe space for my little one to play. pls dont close it.

my kids love this place! lewisham council needs to stop cutting the things that actually matter for local families. keep it open.
