The work that these volunteers do is amazing and what they have achieved is remarkable to take it away from them and the community is really disgusting, Wigan council should be ashamed of themselves!!

This should stay as it currently is. So much hard work and effort has been pit in to make it what it is and this shouldn't be ruined by the local council

I think this is disgusting. They have turned a run down building into a lovely cafe and now the council want to take it back.

Since the re opening of the tea rooms the staff there have worked very hard with far less financial support than likes of Haigh hall,
Staff have been helping out local people with getting numerous very popular events over the year for families at the park and even at Christmas providing meals for people less fortunate.. plus the benefit of a nice tea room.
It's a great disappointment that council are now trying to take away everything that the tea room staff have worked hard to provide over the years.

Disgusting!! I sat through a lot of the meetings where Trish and the team fought to get a community cafe up and running and all Wigan council wanted to know was what the profit would be !!! TYPICAL... Put lots of barriers up and gave no support to get it going and now it is a massive success Wigan obviously want a cut! ....
The cafe has become a real hub at the park for all generations and that's because its been set up for the community to use ...
like I said at the start .....

Wigan MBC need to engage with the people of leigh as a whole and recognise that community is the key to success and successful engagement is with the people not the people with the most money in the table during the tender.
/seriously all the business plans in the world have nothing on the people front of house who have built this concept from it infancy to where it is now

It is disgusting. All volunteers who do a fabulous job. I will not be frequenting the tea shop if wigan metro get their hands on it and neither will my friends. Wigan you should leave the tea shop alone havent you taken enough from Leigh already. Shame on you Wigan
