Needs to be saved a unique part of Petersfield

I've grown up having this quirky little cluster of shops on my door step. I've seen many individual shops come and go but always found something new and enjoyable inside. In particular my partner and I are very fond of 'Rainbows'. It would be a tragedy if this historic building and shops within were to be closed down.

Folly market is a delightful asset to the town. It is one of the reasons why Petersfield is a destination town for shopping, for independent querky and individual outlets. I protest strongly against its closure.

We can't lose the character of our town cramming more and more houses into every pocket of space that isn't there

I support the fight to save the folly market , the livelyhood of all the small businesses is an important part of Petersfield's heritage.

You can't possibly think that removing thriving, independent businesses is a good thing for Petersfield??? How precisely would it be good???

Please don't demolish this quirky amenity to build yet more houses. It's places like this that will save Petersfield from dying. Look at Chapel Street and Lavant Street- for the most part empty shops, betting shops or charity shops. We are in danger of creating a town of houses and the above only. Where's the attraction in that. Who will want to visit such a place.

It depends whether you want Petersfield to become a bedsit feeder town for London, or to retain its historical presence as a market town. The micro-businesses that inhabit Folly Market are essential to the local economy, both in terms of the services they provide and the public interest they generate (i.e. drawing in out-of-town visitors). Without such businesses the town will lose its identity - more charity and betting shops will jostle with supermarkets...and people will stop coming because there's nothing to see that can't be seen in any other town.

It is extremely important that The Folly Market area is not lost to the Country Town of Petersfield. It is an important part of the towns charm and adds a huge amount more to the character of the Town than a few more flats would do. We must fight to keep it there.

We need more small traders and less multinationals

the Folly adds to the attraction of shopping in Petersfield, great outlets that otherwise could NOT afford shop rents..MUST stay.

Wake up Petersfield, you have an iconic place which I have visited many times. Housing developments are not iconic. Save this icon and community asset.
