I have everything to thank this course for. I would not be where I am without the insight and ability given to me by the incredible lecturers and practical instructors. Working as an assistant director on coronation street is a dream and this course helped me achieve it.

this is yet another phase of a larger tendency to assault the humanities and the integrity of the university. The subjects which best encourage critical thinking are being systematically destroyed yet they best embody what universities are for. This must be stopped.

University's are not profit making organisations and niche subjects such as Film Studies should be maintained.

It's a brilliant subject that has taught me a lot. I'd hate for that opportunity to be taken away for future students. We're also one of the only Uni's to do Screenwriting.

Film and TV is such a vital part of the 21c cultural landscape, every university should aspire to have a film studies department, offering undergraduate courses upwards. To undermine the sustainability of one own excellent department in the way UWE management are doing is shocking.
My dad has put his heart and soul into this course and to take away the opportunity for future students to study and explore film is disgusting

This is disgusting, and goes to show how the Arts and Humanties are not respected anywhere near as much as STEM subjects. If this shut is successful then what next - Film Studies departments at other universities, followed by other A&H subjects? The buck needs to stop here.

Worrying. Think we're going to start seeing this across the board.
