Falcon park is a unique park in that it is TOTALLY safe for small children and dogs to play in as is quiet and has noroads running close by and with a lovely boarder of beautiful trees. It serves the local communicty for both children play, peaceful contemplation and dog walking. Without this park - all dog walkers have to walk a great deal further and woudl cause a lot of traffic in the other much smaller local parks. In addition the road links and residential area are not at all suited for heavier traffic associated with the commercialisation of the space for another use. I urge you to consier the local communitiy which has built so strongly on this lovely little park tucked away from the rush and noise of London. It is a treasure which should be treasured. Will Martindale is right. This is only happening because of the Council's decision to close the Battersea Sports Centre in Hope Street. Only when they discovered the extent of the opposition to that idea that they came up with this threat to Falcon Park.
As one of the councillors for the area, and incidentally a member of the planning committee, I will have a vote at the decisive meeting. The plan as it stands is likely to destroy much of the charm of the park. I think that the whole project needs re-design.

I thinmk it is a terrible shame to build an astroturf on Falcon Park as it is a delightful little park which affords an attractive open space to walk either with one's dogs or children.

Please, just leave this alone that people love and enjoy. It doesn't need removing from the public realm, it doesn't even need altering. Hands off Falcon Park !

I oppose this plan to build on the park.
The council selected this site in haste and with very little consultation with residents. Falcon Park has only been selected for a new pitch because the council is closing Battersea Sports Centre in Hope Street.
The council should not close the Sports Centre - and it should not build on Falcon Park. Wandsworth Council should take more care of our community facilities and it should take more care of Battersea's green spaces. The council’s plans to charge children £2.50 to use Battersea Park Adventure Playground were only stopped by a determined community campaign.

I feel that unless the new pitch and facilities are to be used daily it is an entirely unnecessary expense which would deprive the people who enjoy it most for a few who can already enjoy it. Let us all continue to share this lovely green open space, as it is now.

I have been in BATTERSEA all my life and have spent many's of days at Shillingdon/Falcon/Banana park.. This place is part of my history and roots.. We DO NOT need any more football grounds.. Wandsworth common, Clapham Common,Battersea park and St George's park ALL have football pitches.. Go away you money grabbing people and KEEP your HANDS OFF OUR PARK.. It's perfectly fine just as it is..
