This is nonsense! The Vet Board should seek to work WITH the alternative practices rather then attempt to shut them down!! It's suppose to be all about helping the animals! This is also a violation of Texas Government code 318 and an attempt at Restraint Of Trade which clearly makes the Vet Boards actions AGAINST THE LAW!

Equine osteopathy and other alternative therapies are useful and complement traditional allopathic care, not replace it. Owners should have choice in who treats their animals and what treatments the animals receive.

I have had equine osteopaths help my horses in the UK and USA when vets have just prescribed pain killers and done nothing to really help them. Thanks to theses guys knowledge and expertise my equine friends have come back from injuries and pain to health and happiness again. Don't let the government take your choices away to treat your animals as you see fit.

It's important to have Equine Osteopaths (as well as other alternative therapists), as has been previously mentioned, they are specialists in their field. Equine Osteopaths undertake formal education and graduated as qualified professionals. These people know what they are doing, and it is important to keep them around as their expertise works in conjunction with veterinary medicine in order to best benefit our equine counterparts.

In France we had the same problems between the veterinarian and the ostheopaths finely a law past in favor of the osteopaths because the equine osteopathy is a complementary way and not the opposite way. The osteopath have to send the horses to a veterinarian if it's not his competence and the veterinarian have to do the same thing. (Sorry for my english) but i would like the share our french experience with the same problems and i hope the same issue

Vets cover so much material in a relatively short amount of time. Unless they specialize in a certain field they do not have the same knowledge or adequate experience like someone who has studied strickly for equine massage, chiropractic, otheopathy or etc. I wouldnt go to a regular dr for a foot problem or for spinal surgery! I would go to a specialist! The vet board needs to stop being such control money hungry freaks and learn from these people and work with them not against them!

Let horse owners determine the health care of their animals! Chiros and LMTs have been doing fine with horses. This is about fear of losing a piece of the pie!
