We were there with a group of Mayo artists just before Christmas and the gallery is a wonderful facility, a bespoke contemporary gallery, built to the highest standards. It would be nonsensical for it to be utilised as office space.

It would be an absolute shame if Ebrington Gallery reverts to office space. The Turner exhibition was excellent and the Gallery could become one of the top galleries in NI if DCC/ILEX has the vision to support it. Think big.

Wonderful facility. There are plenty of other buildings in Ebrington for office use.

To encourage the support of non-locals and/or anyone who didn't get to see the exhibition, would some photographs of the magnificent Ebrington space on the website be a good idea?

I worked on the 2012 Olympics: so much was staked on 'legacy'. One year matters little if there is no legacy: please give future citizens the benefits of this gallery.

To build on the Capital of Culture status Derry needs to keep the Ebrington Gallery. It's a world class venue - it's a reason to return to Derry in the future, crossing not only a bridge but the Irish Sea!

Derry needs this exhibition space.

It wuld be a negative comment on this city if we allow this gallery to close. Why do we not dream of what might be instead of what appears to be practical.

There will be no possibility of creating an appetitie for artists if we allow this wonderful asset to close. We speak about the legacy of 2013 and we cannot allow this gallery to close and be used as offices. To do so would show that the City of Culture had no real significance for the city.

Keep it as an arts venue! If not a gallery, it should become an arthouse cinema like Belfast's QFT.

Keep the Gallery space as a legacy to the City of Culture and ensure Derry can continue to host fabulous exhibitions. The access from the Peace Bridge links both sides of the river so well.

I did my first ever big gig at Ebrington's Venue and was so sad and disappointed to see it go. It took with it many amazing memories. I would hate to see the rest of the sight go as would so many others. The Ebrington site has been such a vocal point and landmark in our city thoughout the UK City of Culture 2013. Taking it away from a general public to whom it means so much would be no less than a total shame in my eyes. Please keep our Ebrington!

Amend the petition to include support for the Creative Hub (at Ebrington with same floorspace as was planned) to gain support and be fair to all.

another example of built heritage bulldozed (metaphorically) for "progress", rather than utilising the heritage of the complex to bring visitors into Derry.
