We already have an over abundance of low income housing. Low income housing should be distributed all over the city and not concentrated in one area. Try building this is West University and see how well it goes over. They wouldn’t tolerate it, and neither should we!

Not okay! We live in the east end and pay very expensive taxes to live in a safe, close knit, gated community! Move the project housing elsewhere. Our area is just now developing for business owners and people who own homes here. This is the worst idea ever especially because a new city center is being built that will have expensive shops and the newest one in Houston! Would completely ruin this up and coming area.....

I do not support additional low income housing in the east end. There have already been several low income housing complexes built to date in the east end: Phoenix estates off of 45 near Cullen, New Hope on Harrisburg, and another location on Canal. These are within only a few miles of each other and this does not include all the low income “rooming houses.” This is not reinvestment in community; It is the opposite as it overburdens infrastructure, available tax dollars, resources, and will change the area that people have lived in for decades and bought into recently (my family has lived here since the ‘30s) since they will not be paying into the tax system that supports the area. It should be noted that hcad seems to raise everyone’s property taxes by 10% each year and while I am not low income many of those people whose taxes are consistently going up 10% are low income or struggling. Why not help the HOME OWNERS in the area who are in need rather than developers.

No more low income housing in East End. WE were lied by the authorities. You can trust no one in government. When they want to be elected they promise one thing and when they get elected, they "forget". NO LOW INCOME HOUSING IN EAST END.
