3rd generation property owner. Walk to and climb tower regularly when there. Please save it!!! It's a historical icon!

While safety of all who visit is the utmost importance, I think that the tower should be saved. Why not refurbish and rebuild this great tower? Take it down, add new boards and support where needed and then put it back up. It is a part of history in the park as well as a visiting point for many tourists, it would hurt the park financially to not keep the tower.

This tower (and the ones in Pottawatomie Park, and on Washington Island) Have become part of the heritage of this land. The DNR may own it, they may have built it; but they also have the responsibility to now preserve the heritage that has been created. The government of Wisconsin has a responsibility to care for the cultural items they own, and have been entrusted by the citizens of this state to take care of.

Please find a way to save our tower. Some things are just made to keep and not destroy because it might be cheaper. The tower is one of the famous landmarks that defines Door County.

We need a Civilian Conservation Corps now! It created jobs, taught skills, and produced beauty that has lasted for generations!
