Lead weights are the most common type of weight that fishers use! Sadly, the weights often get torn off the wire and sink to the bottom of the water where they get eaten up by the curious creatures of the sea! These lead weights result in toxic reactions to these animals like brain damage, seizures and ultimately many of them die! Millions of animals everyday are at risk of this because no one puts in the thought that these weights can put anything in harm Stop the use of lead fishing weights and save the ducks, otters and other critters of the water!

this is so sad how can people just drop these things in the water knowing what it does to the animals?? we need to stop using lead right now before more ducks die.

We need to end the use of those weights! Ducks especially love to eat everything they see, because it's there way of exploring and if they stumble upon this they'll eat it and they'll possibly get lead poisoning! I completely agree with this! Good petition! This must grow and get to the government!
this is so sad how can people just drop these things in the water knowing what it does to the animals?? we need to stop using lead right now before more ducks die.
