I had Florence for one of my first classes at Erikson in the fall of 2021. She, simply by being who she is and without directly knowing it, affirmed my decision to choose Erikson. She embodied the interdependence of social justice and social work and taught about the need to deconstruct and reconstruct while nurturing our class of new-to-Erikson students.. I am confused about why her contract wasn't renewed when she represents, in my mind, Erikson.

Florence has been such a knowledgeable, supportive and kind professor and I have learned so much from her. She is a tremendous asset to the MSW program and I hope she will be able to continue to teach at Erikson.

I’m an online MSW student and learning from Florence has been a primary reason for staying in this program. This decision feels deeply confusing and unacceptable to me — it is unfair to both Florence and also to us as students.

DR. Florence Kimondo deserves to work with students whose lives she saved, such as mine!!! I love her compassionate demeanor and her open-door policy. She inspired me to move forward when I was at my lowest. She deserves this opportunity to keep her position because she is a massive part of why most students continue their careers.

Florence has been the most patient and caring professor AND person I have had the pleasure of working with. Erikson would be losing a vital and valuable asset to their faculty. I, as well as my cohorts, are shocked, upset, and hurt by the decision to not renew Florence Kimondo’s contract. Many of us are concerned with the future of Erikson’s MSW program following the loss of Cassandra and now Florence. We beg you to reconsider, as our voices are the most powerful and important in our education. REINSTATE FLORENCE KIMONDO!
