Save Downtown Parking - Say No to Parallel Parking - Deep River, Ontario
The Town of Deep River is proceeding with a ‘Town Revitalization’ project which is set to include the removal of angle parking on the store side of Champlain Street and both sides of Ridge Road in front of Giant Tiger and replacing it with parallel parking and widened sidewalks to increase foot traffic. Angle parking will remain on the town hall side of the street. Parallel parking in front of GT - one side only.
We are concerned for our customers and their continued patronage should they no longer be able to angle park directly in front of our stores and as a result, the future of our businesses.
Say NO to reduced parking. NO to parallel parking.

There will be less parking in front of the stores and driving a truck, I do not fit in the current parallel spots in town, so unless they are larger, I won't fit. Even if the angled parking is kept on Champlain, Giant Tiger on Ridge Road will have 75 percent less parking available. Being from our of town, I'm not going to shop in Deep River at the pet store and go in the opposite direction for groceries. I will stop shopping in Deep River altogether.

I think the money could be spent by fixing the roads create a youth centre for the kids adding more social areas like a proper place other than a parking lot for the farmers market having parrell parking reduces areas for the handicap , elderly , fix what is broken now !! Deep river road is horrendous so is the hospital road these things need to be addressed before anything else

I feel that the downtown core will be lost fairly quickly by reducing parking spaces. I am also worried that many of our (still licensed) seniors may not get the freedom they deserve in the town that they have supported for many years!
