Over the years we have visited the Isle of Man specifically because of the historic transport system. Sadly, sections of the steam railway were closed a number of years ago and with hindsight it was a mistake; the authorities did not recognize it's value. A mistake is going to be made again as more of the heritage ambiance is destroyed or cast aside. Please don't let it happen.

Once it's gone that's it! It can never be reinstated as is. Please find a way to continue funding this Manx icon. Our children's children deserve to experience this unique tramway, as do their children in their turn!

Typcal of short sighted politicians with no imagination and foresight.
Once gone there is no turning back, it's part of the heritage of The Isle of Man and should be preserved in working order for future generations.

The Douglas Bay Horse Tramway is a unique historic gem and its loss to the Manx Heritage and Tourist Industry will only be very detrimental to the overall life and prosperity of the Isle. Surely a way can be found to fully retain it and not destroy it for ever.

Your system provides a contrast to what people come across in day to day life. Educating and interesting people as another reason to visit the Isle of Mann. Cherishing the historical artefacts like the horse drawn trams in this digital age is important and its importance should not be underestimated.

Please do not close the tramway. It is a unique piece of heritage and with the correct organisation can work as a charity or with minimal financial input. This brings in more to IOM than it costs

I am appalled at this proposal. The Douglas horse tram is one of the most iconic sights on the Isle of Man. To destroy it in this way would be to destroy an important part of the Manx heritage .A smaller token gesture would not be at all acceptable I do hope good sense prevails !

Build car parks out of town like in York, your shuttle bus fare covers all day parking fee.
