dndtools.eu is the best website ever. Without it d&d is not playable. WoTC need to invest in them not shut them down!

First of all, I'll start by saying that I purchased copies of all the books that contained the information I was looking up on DnD tools. I was using because it was a great tool that contained all the information needed in one place without having to consult 5-10 different books when creating a new character. I spent thousands of dollards on my collection of DnD 3.5 books and accessories. I never switched to the 4th Ed because I simply didn't like it. But when I see how WotC reacts to a site that provides a good tool for which they don't offer an alternative, it just pisses me off and it deffinetly doesn't make me want to purchase the 5th edition. I will do what every consumer has a right to do and take my business elsewhere.

Shutting down dndtools makes no financial sense. This isn't going to make people turn to 5e. They were going to dndtools for 3.5 and 3.0, and removing a searchable databse of an older version of your product doesn't magically make people buy your new, non-searchable one.

I love 3.5e, and the only reason I loved D&D Tools was because Wizards of the Coast isn't re-printing the books, so that was such an amazing database to search for the stuff Wizards had released. It is such a humble petition, Wizards already threw down their own D&D Archive of 3.5's Web Enhancements, why turn down D&D Tools? Because of 5e? That is not fair, you can't force someone to love something "that is new" and exchange it for what you love the most.

I would continue buying 3.5 material if it were released, and I would buy older books if they sold them directly. I will not play 4e or 5e, no matter how much they attempt to ruin their 3.5 customer base, so ensuring that we can't use online resources is dense, at best. It's cutting off a source of revenue, and it's stupid.

This is not the way to shift attention towards new upcoming products wizards is introducing. This attack against the loyal fan base of products that came before can only serve to generate ill will and see to it that the internet does what it does best - spin something a company could have collaborated on, to make something good both for fans and the company in question, out of their control. As closing words, if something new is better then it's predecessor it will eventually surpass it one way or another, losing a fan's loyalty, trust or interest is something far harder to get back..

As someone who invested several hundred £'s into 3.5, and has continued to play it even through 4E and now 5E dndtools was a godsend, saving me from carting half a ton of books to-and-fro from my GM's house every game session.

Ridiculous. The spirit of the OGL on 3rd edition was to encourage others to use and spread the game material, and now you are shutting down a major tool that YOUR CUSTOMERS use to continue playing your products. By shutting down the site, you have lost customers, and therefore money. Bad decision on all fronts.

Wizards really needs to back off, they could have at least made arrangements with the creators of dndtools to keep the site up and running with their allowance due to a merge; but no, Wizards has to ruin yet another good thing... I guess the parable is right: Wizards, no sense of right and wrong

I have purchased every 3.5 book available, and I still used dndtools to make things much more accessible. It did nothing but help 3.5, and taking it down is a bad idea, especially because 3.5 content is no longer being produced.

DnDtools was the single easiest way to get all the (or most) of your best product so far, it allowed us to find rules and information much easier than flipping through books did and encouraged many people to purchase more books, I don't like pathfinder and would prefer not to be forced to switch to it to keep from having to page through 50 books that my group owns but i may not have another choice now
