The support thus far is amazing. I urge everyone who has signed to please share the link on FB or Twitter as well! We really need to get everyone to rally behind this. Yes a balanced budget is needed but the Fire Department is not where the cuts are needed! And if this is succesful, where will it end? Will the Police Department be on the chopping block next year? Public Safety is not an area that should be managed by minimum standards! #SaveDFD

Just wondering what the State Of Illinois requirements are regarding Fire Protection and first response. I doubt Danville is heavy on Fire Fighters. Worth looking into.

I think Danville is out of ways to cut spending.

Makes no sense to reduce life safety personnel. If this happens it will be much harder to return or increase staff in the future. I hope they can find funding because I'm sure they're desperate if they want to reduce staffing fire ffighters.

I have many friends on the fire and police department. This is the last place cuts should come from. Quit changing and landscaping downtown streets that don't need it. Keep the guys who protect us all.

really with all of the great changes in retail stores and restaurants plus the big on going economic devolpment the city goverment need to quit doing useless spending in other things

why is he out to be part of a communities own destruction? INSTEAD OF CUTTING BACK THE FIRE DEPT. HOW ABOUT CUTTING BACK ON THE CRIMINAL AND THE CRIME!!!!!? OR ARE YOU ONE OF THE CRIMINALS TOO SCOTT? WE NEED FIREFIGHTERS! YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU CUT BACK FIRE DEPT. AND GOD FORBID A BIG FIRE..AND ONLY SO MANY FIRE FIGHTERS TO FIRST RESPOND. YOU SCOTT ARE NOT EFFECTIVE.
