Save Curbside Drop-Off
Ms. Goetz,
We are the parents of children enrolled at Sunflower Montessori in Missoula. We've been informed that Curbside Drop-Off is no longer allowed at our children's school, and we urge you to reconsider your decision. Curbside Drop-Off was beneficial in so many ways. Many parents have multiple children and must now find parking and remove all of our children (including our infants) from the car in freezing temperatures. We must also navigate a small parking lot when other cars are backing out. Most importantly, Curbside Drop-Off adheres to the Montessori philosophy of saying "goodbye at the gate," creating an easier emotional transition for students.
Curbside Drop-Off is helmed by school administrators, giving us the opportunity to see the heads of the school each morning while teachers are engaging the classroom inside. We understand that we can contact our children's teachers at any time to schedule a meeting, and are welcomed by the school should we choose to drop by.
Curbside Drop-Off has made life (or at least mornings!) so much easier for us since it was instituted. Please reconsider your position on this.
