This resource is essential to Ouray's future, to augment our water supply, and to provide a water source for firefighting. Plus, tourists put visiting this lake at the top of their must-see, must-photograph list. Many are dismayed that the lake is no longer there.

this lake is wonderful for so many reasons. on any given day, there are always people using and loving it. it is one of the few lakes that is accessible on the highway and the scenery is mind bending. and it provides security for Ouray's water supply. it is depressing to see it empty. please fill this lake back up!! the ducks agree!
