We are all being told to get more exercise and to eat healthily but when allotment holders try to do just that they are not supported in doing so. More jloined up thinking is needed in national and local governments!!

This is unacceptable and unfair and all allotment holders,wherever you are,should protest.Your plot may be next!

I think it's such a shame to even consider building on people's allotments I know that these are not just allotments to these people for some it is their only escape. You will be taking away their gardens, their food source , their save havens and destroying thousands of pounds worth of plants . It's not good enough : (

With food security under threat in this country, allotments must be preserved. If a piece of land is suitable for 'relocation' of allotments, why not use that for housing?

How do we lodge formal complaints about this? The 'steeply sloping woodland to the west' of Whitehawk Hill allotments is where they propose to relocate 31 allotments... Does this mean they propose to also destroy the woodland (where local kids play and people walk dogs and is an amazing habitat) as well as destroying the fantastic allotment community which as Simon states in the Argus article has over '100 years of cultivation'? This is such a terrible, terrible proposal.
