I have hiked this area many times, and am always enchanted by the beauty so close to a major metropolitan area. Please preserve this natural asset for future generations!

I grew up here, my childhood home! Would hate to see it transform into something I cannot recognize, it means everything to me

The environment is so important to protect for all wildlife and people! Please save this important peice of land from development! My partner and I are from out of town and we LOVED being able to explore this area not too far away from where we are staying :)

We need to preserve the natural habitat as much as we can. It's beautiful the way it is and I would hate to see developers drain the town out to build more housing and big box stores. I fully support this petition!

I fully support this petition as frequent user of the trail. While I support finding more ways to construct housing for new residents, this area should be preserved given it's unique nature and placement.

Not every piece of pristine land should be developed … this is one of those areas. Save it for our children and our children's children. Save Cougar Mountain from unnecessary destabilization. Woodland vistas and recreational areas for urban and suburban residents provides sorely needed respites from the stress created by our high tech and manmade environment.

There is no going back if green space (glorious forest!) is demolished for yet another subdivision.

This is the last thing we need, adding MORE pollution, people, etc., into a green space that we so desperately need. I do NOT support development on Cougar Mountain.

Growing up in Sammamish, right next to Issaquah, Cougar Mountain has always been a spot to go for wilderness that is close to home. It stands out that it is a major natural area inside an already large enough city.

Please stop tearing down our forests and wildlife habitats to make room for people there is no space for here. We don’t have the infrastructure for the people who are already here! And the trees and animals were here first, we have no right to destroy their habitat with reckless abandon. As a homeowner here, I find it so disheartening to be losing so much of what makes our city great.

Cougar Mountain needs to be saved for all the animals dwelling in the forest and for all the humans to keep in touch with their spiritual side and realize Mother Nature truly rules the universe.

My husband and I live near the base of cougar mountain and spend at least 3 days a week running the trail system from the big tree trailhead off Newport way. We purchased our condo knowing this would be the greatest asset and not a day goes by that we don’t feel incredibly lucky to have this amazing property in our backyard. This forested area is so beautiful and so diverse with so much beautiful wildlife. If it were sold and developed it would be devastating to local residents and outdoor enthusiasts as well as the animals and plants that thrive here.
We must save the Cougar Mountain!!
